SCHOLARSHIPS

The Cary Marching Band, Winter Color Guard, and Drum lines are primarily funded by fair share assessments and Band fundraisers. The programs receive very little money from the Wake County Schools or the State. We make the program accessible to students regardless of their financial situation by offering multiple ways of raising funds. Additionally, we are able to offer some assistance towards assessments.

Below are the major factors considered before awarding financial assistance/scholarships.

FINANCIAL HARDSHIP, INCLUDING:

  • Student’s eligibility for free lunch program through Wake County Public Schools

  • Parent/Guardian’s loss of job

  • Multiple siblings participating in program

  • Single parent home

PARENT/GUARDIAN & STUDENT PARTICIPATION INCLUDING:

  • Enrollment in Scrip program

  • Volunteering for competitions and/or football games

  • Effort made to raise a portion of the assessment through the various fundraising programs available through the Band  Booster program

  • Student showing academic effort in other classes

Families are encouraged to earn money towards their annual assessment by participating in booster-sponsored fundraising activities.  Please contact our ways_and_means@caryband.org for additional information about the opportunities available.

NOTE: All requests are kept strictly confidential.  While the Band Boosters help fund the financial aid, CHS parents are not part of this process.
