2021 Spring Football Pep Band

What:  Because of COVID, the 2020 fall football season has been pushed to the Winter/Spring, and will be shorter.  We want to have the Cary Band be a part of this important part of the Cary community, but in a different way.  Instead of having a marching band for this season, we will be in “pep band mode”.  In pep band, we will sit in the bleachers, socially distanced, with music and music stands performing lots of different rock and roll pep songs throughout the game.

Music:  No music will be memorized as we will have all the music in flip book packets.

Uniforms:  We will not be wearing marching band uniforms. Pep band is a bit more informal. The goal is to just get out and have fun, but in a responsible way. So... instead of uniforms, we ask that students purchase and wear the official CARY HIGH PEP BAND 2021 sweatshirt, now available on Amazon for order for $25. See links below. Choose between a hoodie or normal sweatshirt to wear at the football games. It is, of course, yours to keep.

PPE:  The Wake County Schools have provided special band masks for the students so they can still play and be safe.

Who?:  EVERYONE!  You don’t have to be in the 2nd semester curricular band class to be a part of this extra-curricular ensemble.  We are in the process of figuring out a color guard portion.

Football game dates:

• Friday, March 5th - Report 5:45pm, game starts at 7:00.

• Friday, March 19th - Report 5:45pm, game starts at 7:00.

• Friday, March 26th - Report 5:45pm, game starts at 7:00.

• Friday, April 2nd - 8th Grade Night!  We will invite any 8th graders who are coming to CHS next year to join in on the fun! - Report 5:00, game starts at 7:00.
