Working at the Arena

When the Cary Band Boosters work an event at the arena, we'll be assigned a concession stand the day of the event. Usually 12-15 people will be selling food and beverages. The arena asks that we dress in black. The arena provides a black button down shirt and apron along with a red visor. All these must be worn while in the stand. They ask that you wear black pants and black shoes or sneakers.

Reporting times vary and will be posted on the sign up page on the web site. You must park in West Reserved Parking through Gate C (the employee lot) by Carter Finley Stadium. The entrance is on Trinity Rd. You must enter the arena at the employee entrance (opposite side of the building from the parking), sign in there (look for the Cary Band sheet under volunteers), check for the stand number and then report to the stand. If you need the above mentioned clothes, the employee entrance sign location is the place to ask for them. Please sign in on 2 sheets at the stand also. We do our best to clean up and leave before the event lets out. NO ONE UNDER 21 OR LACKING ALE TRAINING WILL SERVE ALCOHOL. If you'd like to NOT serve alcohol just ask and you'll be assigned a different duty.

Remember, no special training is required to work an Arena event. Experienced Cary Band Parents will train those who are new.

For NC State Basketball Games, No alcohol is served so kids 16 yrs old and older are allowed to work. No training of any kind is required.

For hockey, concerts and other events, beer is served. Therefore only kids 18 and older may work. In order to serve beer at these functions, servers must be 21 or over and have had the ALE training provided by the Arena. Kids 18-21 will work as food handlers and will not be serving beer.
