Guest Band

The Cary High School Marching Band proudly welcomes the UNC Charlotte – “Pride of Niner Nation” Marching Band as our guest band this year.

unccbandIn August 2015, the UNC Charlotte “Pride of Niner Nation” Marching Band took the field in its inaugural season. Now in its second year, this highly visible ensemble of nearly 160 performers continues to entertain audiences at all Charlotte 49ers home football games, around the state, and in the local community with a unique combination of tremendous spirit and high-quality performances! Membership of the PNNMB represents each of the eight colleges at UNC Charlotte and is comprised largely of non-music majors (approximately 80%). The “Pride of Niner Nation” Marching Band is proud to offer scholarships to students of all majors, including members of the drumline and colorguard.

The PNNMB performs three different half time shows each season, encompassing a wide range of musical genres, including jazz, classical, opera, rock & roll, Latin, blues, R&B, and funk. Additionally, the band performs a unique pregame show including traditional school songs and cheers as well as a signature patriotic selection that honors our great Nation. In June 2018, the “Pride of Niner Nation” Marching Band will travel to Normandy, France, serving as the only collegiate marching band from the United States selected to perform in D-Day commemoration ceremonies.
