Former Band Director Jimmy Burns (1965-1977) and Drum Major Chris Branam will again lead an alumni band in the 52nd Cary Band Day Parade on October 30. We're hoping to have a large crowd of Cary Band alumni march as a unit in the parade.
So pull out those old woodwinds, horns, drums, flags, and Cary Band jackets. No uniforms or spats required! Just wear something Cary green on top with jeans. We will supply music and fingering for those who need a little extra help remembering the old CHS fight song.
A rehearsal will be held from 6pm to 7pm on Friday, October 29, in the Band Room, just before the Alumni Reception at CHS. Jimmy Burns and Chris Branam will lead this practice session. We'll be playing the "older version" of the CHS fight song. The music is the same as we used for the 51st CBD parade.
After breakfast, the Alumni Band will line up at the same location as last year - the BB&T parking lot - 200 East Chatham Street. Be there at 9 am. The Parade starts at 10 am and we are the first band.
RSVP to for the parade. Let us know what instrument you'll be playing, your preferred part, and any help you may need. Also please update our contact info for former CHS Band members via our on-line form.
Please continue to check back here as we update alumni details for the 52nd Cary Band Day.
You're never too old or young to be in the Alumni Band!! Come join half a century of your fellow Marching Band Alumni as we take to the streets of Cary on October 30th for the 52nd Annual Cary Band Day.
