PARADE COMPETITION

There will be 3 judges for the Parade Competition. Each band marching in the parade will appear in order determined by random drawing.

FIELD SHOW SCORING

Cary Band Day will be using the new North Carolina Band Directors marching band adjudication sheets (the official trial sheets.)

CLASS WINNER or OVERALL WINNER

The tablulation for the class winner and overall winner comes directly from the combined scores of the five member panel. The scores of the separate percussion adjudicator, color guard adjudicator, and drum major adjudicator will not be considered in the naming of the class winner or overall winner.

If a tie exists, the total of the Effect Scores (Music & Visual) will be used to determine the final placement.

REGISTRATION

THERE WILL BE A NON-REFUNDABLE ENTRY FEE OF $100.00 FOR EACH PARTICIPATING HIGH SCHOOL BAND. There is no charge for Middle School bands marching in the parade.

To enter either the Parade Competition, the Field Show Competition, or both, complete the on-line registration form and send a check for $100.00 to:

The Cary Band Boosters Club
P.O. Box 91
Cary, NC  27512

The first 40 bands to register will be accepted. Bands doing both the Parade and Field Show will be scheduled last in class by random drawing. All others will be scheduled before the parade bands by random drawing. Those postmarked after the deadline of October 15 will be scheduled first in the Parade lineup and/or first in class for the Field Show Competition. Contest rules and scoring sheets will be mailed on October 22 to all bands that have registered.

IMPORTANT - November 1 is an SAT day. Please plan accordingly. Every year bands ask us to let them play later in the day and we cannot in fairness to everyone else change the schedule (e.g. you cannot perform in 3A and compete in 1A.) One option would be to schedule your SATs in this area.
